Our beautiful, loving, smart, talented, wonderful son, William Christopher Paul Schaefer, born August 1, 1991, went to be with his family in Heaven on May 10, 2025.

Chris is survived by his mother, Candy Schaefer (James Collier); father, Michael Schaefer (Holly L Schaefer); aunt/grandmother, Kathy Reyes; grandmothers, Pamela Schaefer, Myrna Brown, Ruth Mitchell; older brother, Denver Schaefer (Holly N Schaefer) and their children, Aspen, Kaid, Aria; younger brother, Devin Schaefer; sister, Christina Gordon (Josh Gordon); and more cousins and friends than could be listed.

He is preceded in death by his great grandparents, Manuel and Candelaria Fields, Morris and Ruth Woods; grandfathers, Charles Schaefer and Donald Brown.

Chris graduated from Indiana University, Indianapolis, IN with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing, Business and Supply Chain Management, 2018-2021, and Ivy Tech Community College, Indianapolis, IN with an Associate of Business Administration, 2015-2017.

Chris was an amazing, caring man who had a natural talent for anything he put his mind to, drawing, painting, music (self-taught guitar and piano), and tattooing. His artistic talents were phenomenal, especially through his drawings and music. His talents throughout his school years to adulthood had broadened and he had become the go-to handyman once he moved back to Tularosa. Chris had a genuine, charismatic personality and a funny sense of humor with some sarcasm. He had a joke for every conversation. He was very smart and academically accomplished. Chris's heart shone through and through with his family. His love for his family and friends was unmatched and every time he walked into a room, that showed. Chris was a guardian to all of those around him. He brought people together and never made anyone feel out of place. Chris was the safe space. He was the first one to check in and would always come through. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit, warmth, and creativity will live on in the memories of all who were lucky enough to know him. Chris will be missed beyond words and remembered always with love.

The Schaefer family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
